Please join us for the KITK Signature Community Event for 2010!
On Friday, March 19, the JLDOC will bring the Kids In The Kitchen program to children at the John Avery Boys & Girls Club in Durham. Children ranging in age from kindergarten to 6th grade will rotate through stations that focus on nutrition, gardening, and fitness. All stations will be staffed by local professionals and JLDOC volunteers. The event will also feature a snack-making session, a puppet show, a raffle, and goodie bags filled with information, prizes, and snacks for children to take home and enjoy with their families.
KITK is an initiative designed by the Association of Junior Leagues International to educate children about the importance of healthy living through good nutrition and exercise. By engaging kids in hands-on preparation of healthy foods and fun physical activities, KITK strives to make a lasting impact in children's lives and reverse the growth of childhood obesity.
